In Ireland, a trans Atlantic legal battle has erupted over an oral history project on the IRA that reportedly implicates Gerry Adams, the leader of Sinn Fein, in an IRA killing.

The project was sponsored by Boston College and participants in the project were given a guarantee that their interviews would be kept in a vault until after their deaths, but Boston College recently submitted to an order to hand over the tapes to a US judge.
